Chronic Cough

Chronic coughing is a condition that can impact a person’s quality of life and should be evaluated by a medical professional such as your primary care physician, ENT physician, otolaryngologist and/or speech language pathologist. Possible causes include everything from post-nasal drip to asthma, gastroesophageal reflux, respiratory or throat infections, chronic bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, a damaged airway, lung cancer or even an ACE inhibitor medication. Effective treatments for chronic cough may include various medications as well as voice or swallowing therapy.
