DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., December 27, 2019 – Matt and Camila Forester, consultants of the fragrance company, Scentsy, recently donated over 600 Scentsy buddies, clips and sidekicks to the AdventHealth Daytona Beach pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.
The Scentsy buddies are lightly-scented, soft-stuffed animal toys for children, the buddy clips are mini plush-stuffed keychain animals filled with scented beads and the sidekicks are multisensory toys made for infants and toddlers that stimulate sight, sound, touch, and smell.
“It means the world to me and warms my heart knowing that just a small gift can put a smile on a child’s face or brightened up an unexpected NICU stay for a family,” said Camila.
This is the first year the Foresters have organized the Scentsy buddy drive for AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
The hospital’s 16-bed Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) cares for newborns 32-weeks and older. It is the only NICU in Volusia County with private, family-centered rooms, allowing parents to stay 24-hours a day with their babies. AdventHealth Daytona Beach’s 10-bed inpatient pediatric unit is brightly colored and inspired by the spirit of Daytona Beach, featuring designs of ocean waves, palm trees, and dolphins, as well as cars racing on a track, chairs in the shape of tires and tool chests, and blimps. The Daytona Beach hospital also has an eight-bed pediatric ER, offering 24/7 emergency pediatric care.
