Cristy Jackson, RN, has been named Gordon Hospitals latest DAISY Award recipient. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the super-human tasks nurses perform every day.
Jackson, who is a nurse on Gordon Hospitals medical-surgical unit, received three nominations including the following: Cristy is an exceptional lady. There is not just one situation, but the entire experience we had while my mother was being cared for by Cristy made a difference to us. She was always smiling and offering us anything that we might need. My mothers bed had to be changed four times, and she was always gracious and kind. Never once did she act annoyed. My family and I were so impressed with Cristy and the wonderful care she provided while we were at Gordon Hospital. She is appreciated.
If you or a loved one have been a patient at Gordon Hospital and would like to nominate an extraordinary nurse for the DAISY Award, visit www.gordonhospital.com to download a nomination form, or call Call706-602-7800 x2258.

About the DAISY Foundation
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, California, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. (DAISY is an acronym for diseases attacking the immune system.)The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
