NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla., October 25, 2017 Florida Hospital New Smyrna has selected Amy Taylor to serve as manager of the cardiac catheterization lab.
In this role, Taylor is responsible for overseeing 11 staff members in the state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab where more than 1,200 minimally invasive procedures are performed each year. These procedures include cardiac catheterization along with percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral angiograms and interventions, and implant procedures including pacemakers and defibrillators.
Taylor has more than seven years of experience in the medical field and has been with Florida Hospital for three years. She most recently served as a technician in the New Smyrna Beach facility's cardiac catheterization lab, assisting physicians during minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures, such as angioplasties. She also served as a biller/coder and was responsible for ordering inventory for the cardiac catheterization lab and billing for the procedures.
Additionally, Taylor was previously the clinical educator for the radiography program at Daytona State College.
A Port Orange resident, Taylor earned an Associates of Science in Radiography from Daytona State College and an Associate of Arts from Broward Community College. She is also working towards her Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management from Daytona State College.
