DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 1, 2016 According to the BBC, the chances of having a birthday on a Leap Day Feb. 29 are about one in 1,461. At Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, three new babies Daquan "DJ" Mickens, Jr., Emma Radabaugh, and Hensley Ward are joining that elite club of leaplings by being born on Leap Day.
Kaitlyn Smith of Palm Coast gave birth to Daquan "DJ" Mickens, Jr. at 8:09 am and is 8 pounds 1 ounce and 20 inches long.
Misty Rodgers of Daytona Beach gave birth to Emma Radabaugh at 12:39 am and is 7 pounds 3 ounces and is 20 inches long.
Amy Ward of Palm Coast gave birth to Hensley Ward at 7:37 am and is 7 pounds and 19.25 inches long.
As an extra special celebration, local leaplings Madalyn Doughterty and Carly Krajewski visited Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Centers BirthCare Center to meet the newest leaplings and present a gift basket featuring leaping frogs to DJ, Emma, and Hensley.
