Meet Our Center Director, Alfreda Clark

Helping Children Thrive

Alfreda Clark has dedicated her career to providing children and families with optimal experiences that contribute to positive life outcomes. Alfreda’s expertise includes executive oversight of child development centers and early childcare service providers. Her experience and dedication have helped children from diverse backgrounds gain the tools they need and deserve to thrive.

Her professional roles include: Communications Executive for the Alchemists Collective, serving a variety of clients including: the 2012 US Women's Soccer Team, Westfield Shoppingtowns, British Petroleum and Napster, Chief Operations Officer of Children's Palace Centers and Center Director of the first UAW-Ford FSLC Child Development Center. Alfreda has an undergraduate degree in Child Development from Michigan State University. She has served as a board member for several organizations including Michigan based Child Care Coordinating Council (4C) and has led special projects for the Junior League and holds membership with NAEYC and NBCDI.

In her role as Center Director, she will oversee West Lakes ELC including the clinic, comprehensive services, community outreach and the school.

Creating Opportunities for Growth

Over the past twenty years, Maria has worked in education as a teacher, administrator and consultant.

With a strong understanding of best instructional practice — from early childhood pre-literacy skills to on-level academic standards — Maria works tirelessly to ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed, regardless of their background, needs or achievement level. Her experience includes a wide range of schools, ranging from a high socioeconomic school to a Title I school with 90% free and reduced lunch.

As a school leader, Maria has provided multiple professional development workshops and training on the implementation of pre-kindergarten to fifth-grade curriculum. She has also guest lectured at the University of Central Florida.

Maria has Florida State certifications in:

  • School principal for all levels
  • Director Credential Level 1 VPK Endorsed
