Can’t attend classes in person? We’ve partnered with Baby 360 Childbirth Academy to offer free, on-demand, instructor-led courses you can take at your own pace—covering every stage of your maternity journey.

These online video courses are instructor-led, can be completed at your own pace and include interactive assessments and activities. Course topics include:

In-person Childbirth Classes

Our patient and family education programs are free resources to help you prepare for labor, childbirth, the care of your newborn and breastfeeding. Childbirth education and breastfeeding classes can provide a great environment for questions, sharing fears and making a birthing plan. During these classes, parents will learn what to expect before, during and after birth, building confidence to support the best birth experience possible.

The Baby Place childbirth educators and registered OB nurses lead our childbirth and postpartum classes. You can choose to attend one or all sessions; please register for all classes separately.

    Course One | Childbirth Preparation

    Learn the stages of labor, how to recognize when it’s time to go to the hospital, and how your partner can support you throughout. This course will allow you to practice key labor positions with guidance from our team.
    Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

    Course Two | Childbirth Preparation

    This class will explore natural pain relief techniques and labor support strategies. Learn about epidurals, IV medications, and medical procedures like induction and cesarean birth.

    Course Three | Postpartum and Newborn Care

    This class will prepare you for what to expect after delivery in the hospital and the first six weeks at home with your baby. We will discuss pain management, physical and emotional changes following childbirth, and how to care for yourself. Additionally, this course covers newborn procedures after birth, typical newborn appearance, safe sleep practices, circumcision, and more. If available, bring a baby doll or stuffed animal with you to practice swaddling and diaper changes.

    Course Four | Breastfeeding Success

    This course will give you the confidence and knowledge to be successful in your breastfeeding journey. Our team will help you identify how to properly latch and position your baby for breastfeeding. You will learn to identify infant hunger cues, how to hand-express breastmilk, basics of using a breast pump, pumping tips, as well as solutions to common breastfeeding challenges. Support people are encouraged to attend and will learn how to support their partner effectively with breastfeeding. If available, bring a baby doll or stuffed animal with you to class to practice breastfeeding positions.
