President and Chief Executive Officer
In October 2021, Chris Self was named president/CEO of AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray.
Self began with AdventHealth 17 years ago, serving in multiple leadership roles over the course of his career. Starting in Florida, he served on the AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida team and later led business development at AdventHealth Kissimmee. From there, he moved to North Carolina to serve as administrative director of business development and strategy at AdventHealth Hendersonville.
In 2016, Self was called to lead as chief operating officer at AdventHealth Manchester. He served in that capacity for two years before assuming the role of president/CEO. Under his leadership, AdventHealth Manchester expanded its reach beyond its local community through the expansion of multiple service lines, outreach clinics and an intentional focus on community and economic development, as well as mission projects.
Self earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from Southern Adventist University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. He is currently working toward designation as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was in the inaugural cohort of AdventHealth’s Executive Leadership Program.
Self and his wife, Sarah, have three beautiful children, Scarlett, Halen and Jovie Etta. During his time off, Self enjoys hiking, traveling with his family and reading.

Chief Financial Officer
Steve Gotshall began his tenure as chief financial officer of AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in April 2022, but he has been part of the AdventHealth team for over 14 years and previously served as associate vice president of finance of AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Gotshall earned a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance from Southern Adventist University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Gotshall and his wife, Tiffani, have a daughter named Aubrey. In his free time, he enjoys running, skiing, reading and spending time with his family.

Vice President, Regional Human Resources Business Partner for the Southeast Region
Jeni Ingersoll began her career at AdventHealth Gordon in 2005. As vice president and regional human resources business partner for AdventHealth's southeast region, Ingersoll oversees the human resources functions at facilities within the region with the goal of creating and maintaining a consistent culture and standard across the region.
A graduate of Southern Adventist University, Ingersoll received a bachelor's degree in English and completed a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in management. Prior to serving as director, she held the position of employee recruiter.
A native of St. Helena, California in the Napa Valley, Ingersoll enjoys working out, reading, spending time with friends, and participating in church activities. She and her husband, Carlyle, reside in Calhoun.

Chief Nursing Officer
Karen Bell joined AdventHealth in 2013 and began her tenure with AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in November 2021.
Bell served in various nurse leader roles at AdventHealth Orlando, including director of nursing for the inpatient cardiovascular, cardiothoracic transplant and wound care service lines. In 2018, Karen was called to serve as the chief nursing officer of AdventHealth Manchester, located in Manchester, Kentucky. In this role, Bell had comprehensive executive oversight and accountability for nursing practice at Manchester, including inpatient, ambulatory and emergency settings. Additionally, she oversaw patient care and clinical ancillary services, including COVID-19 clinical operations response, cardiopulmonary services, pharmacy, clinical education, care navigation, patient experience, infection prevention, risk, quality and accreditation and clinical informatics.
Bell is a highly respected, engaged, mission-driven leader supporting patient and nursing advocacy by encouraging nursing practice advancement, emphasizing the consumer experience, and elevating clinical care delivery. Her nursing career has been dedicated to living a life of significance each day with a purpose and a passion for serving others.
Bell received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. She continued her education at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree. Bell achieved her Board Certification for Nurse Executive, NE-BC, and is currently a participant in the AdventHealth Executive Leadership Program.
Bell and her husband, Chris, have three daughters, Hailey, Ryleigh and Taylor. Bell loves reading, spending time outdoors and volunteering within her community. Bell’s favorite pastime is baking treats with her daughters to share with family and friends.
- Joseph Joyave, MD

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Joyave joined AdventHealth Gordon as co-chief medical officer of AdventHealth Gordon and chief medical officer of AdventHealth Gordon's clinics in early 2016. He has been an active pediatrician in Calhoun since 1997. A graduate of Auburn University and the University of South Alabama, Dr. Joyave completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of South Alabama, where he became chief of residents.
Residing in Calhoun, Dr. Joyave and his wife Sharon have four children: Joseph, Adam, Sara, and Anna. As a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Dr. Joyave is a Sunday school teacher and has served as deacon. Outside of his profession, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with family.
- Maxwell Parrott, MD

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Parrott is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Alabama Hospital. Dr. Parrott is board-certified in internal medicine and practices at AdventHealth Gordon Internal and Family Medicine.
Dr. Parrott and his wife Elizabeth reside in Calhoun and have three children, Meredith, Macey, and Maddox.
