Feel Healthy and Whole
We want kids to feel awesome, every day. At AdventHealth for Children, formerly Florida Hospital for Children, our world-class pediatric gastroenterologists, liver transplant surgeons, transplant hepatologists and highly trained nurses have one focus: kids should live happy, healthy lives.
Changing Kids' Lives
In order to make lifesaving liver transplants available throughout central and north Florida, AdventHealth for Children, formerly Florida Hospital for Children, has created a partnership with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to develop a world-class, comprehensive pediatric liver transplant program. The first of its kind in Orlando, the program accepted its first patient in May 2018.

Dr. Regino Gonzalez-Peralta is the medical director of gastroenterology, hepatology and liver transplantation at AdventHealth for Children. Together, he and the pediatric gastroenterology team employ some of the most advanced medical techniques to diagnose stomach, bowel, liver and nutritional issues in children.
Meet Our Team
Within the first few weeks after Teagan's birth, her parents could tell that something was wrong. She still had jaundice, her stomach was distended, and she was very thin and fragile. After returning to the hospital, Teagan was diagnosed with a rare liver disease and became part of the pediatric liver transplant program. Watch Teagan's story to see what happened when her family got a call 39 days later that changed their lives forever.
A Life-Saving Program Close to Home
Before partnering with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to develop a pediatric liver transplant program, there was only one other hospital with this program in the state of Florida. Now with the first pediatric transplant program in Central Florida at AdventHealth for Children, patients have more options and access to life-saving procedures and expertise close to home.
