Appointments for Selected Lab and Imaging Services Can Now Be Made at AdventHealth Central Texas

Patients who need a lab test or a screening mammogram at Metroplex or Rollins Brook Community Hospitals can now schedule those appointments online at Mplex.org.

The use of online scheduling is one of many steps Metroplex and Adventist Health System (AHS) are taking to actively engage patients in their care through the use of technology.

“Part of fulfilling our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ is to see everything we do through the eyes of our patients and always putting them first,” said Carlyle Walton, president and CEO of Metroplex Health System. “In today’s world of smartphones, tablets and other online technologies, it is important that our patients can access our services no matter where they are.”

“Technology enabled self-scheduling meets our community’s expectations of a convenient experience. It is an important tool that will help us build deeper relationships with those we serve,” said Duncan Grodack, senior vice president of AHS and CIO of Adventist Information Technology.

Online scheduling allows patients to schedule their appointment whenever and wherever they have access to a computer. Once scheduled, patients will receive a confirmation email with preparation instructions tailored to their appointment. When they arrive for their appointment, the care team is prepared for their visit.

AHS plans to continue to implement additional online scheduling options and services at hospitals, urgent care facilities and physician practices in the coming months.
