Extra Safety Measures for Your Protection
We’re employing the following safety measures and protocols to ensure you and your loved ones feel confident, protected and safe in our facilities.
Universal Mask Use
Even in a pandemic, you can feel safe. We’re stocked with safety supplies, and have the personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks for all patients, visitors and team members at our facilities.
Have peace of mind that everyone you come into contact with has their temperature checked upon arrival. Every facility. Every time.
Feel confident you’re doing the right thing to keep yourself and others safe. With limited visitation, new waiting room protocols and more, you can safely practice social distancing.
Take comfort knowing your safety is our priority. COVID-19-positive and symptomatic patients are carefully quarantined away from patients and visitors.
Enhanced Sanitation Measures
If you’ve visited our facilities in the past, you know that cleanliness has always been one of our top priorities. But now we’re taking extraordinary new steps to ensure thorough, frequent and ongoing sanitation measures are happening around the clock.

What to Expect When You Visit the ER
When you're faced with an emergency situation, it's natural to have a lot of questions. At AdventHealth, formerly Metroplex Health System, we’ll take as much time as you need to address your concerns. And we’ll have some questions for you, too, because the more we know, the more quickly we can help bring you healing. To start off, we’ll ask for basic information like your medical history and the reason for your visit. Then we’ll take your vital signs and decide on the best way to care for you.
At AdventHealth Central Texas and AdventHealth Rollins Brook, our emergency rooms use a process called triage to make sure those in the most serious condition receive care first. Sometimes, this means treating a later-arriving person suffering from a heart attack before those with less serious conditions. We always strive to keep our emergency room wait times as short as possible. So that we can best serve you, consider keeping an information card in your wallet or purse that details things like:
- Advanced Directives Like a Health Care Proxy and Power of Attorney
- A List of Your Medications and Drug Allergies
- The Name and Telephone Number of Your Primary Care Physician
When we have all the facts, we can provide the fast, effective emergency medical care you deserve.
- After Your Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or Video Visit
Hopefully, your trip to the emergency room will be the only medical attention you'll need for a while. If your injury or condition requires further treatment, however, our care navigators will help connect you with follow-up care wherever you live. As part of our mission to provide whole-person care, we're here to not only heal your body. We want to help ease your mind and minister to your spirit, as well.
- Care Navigation
We know taking charge of your health care can be overwhelming. That's why there's a care navigator prepared to be your guide. With care navigation, you have access to a comprehensive team of professionals who provide physical, emotional and spiritual support throughout your healing journey. With a heightened and more personalized level of one-on-one attention, our care navigators and resources help you optimize your care to nurture your whole health at every age and every stage of health.
Our care navigation program can:
- Help patients and caregivers understand their discharge instructions and post-hospital stay care
- Offer emotional and spiritual support resources
- Schedule appointments for your follow-up care
- Get you the prescribed medications you need
- Integrate with virtual Video Visit appointments and online health management tools
To do this, we're adopting technologies, people and resources that are all focused on one thing: improving your health care experience and overall wellness.
