Traumatic Brain Injury

A traumatic brain injury is commonly caused by a fall, sports injury or auto accident, and may result in anything from nausea and a mild concussion to epileptic seizures and death. Other symptoms may include headaches, confusion, dizziness, vision problems, a ringing in the ears, trouble sleeping, mood changes and a bad taste in the mouth. Medical help should be sought immediately if someone begins experiencing these symptoms after an accident. Though little can be done to reverse the initial damage caused by the trauma, medication, lifestyle changes and surgery may help reduce symptoms and prevent seizures and epilepsy.
