About Our Program

Established in 1997, AdventHealth Celebration is part of the AdventHealth integrated healthcare system in central Florida that serves residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake counties, as well as patients from all over the world seeking various healthcare specialties. AdventHealth Celebration is a non-for-profit, 357 bed state-of-the-art community hospital that is a prototype for health promotion in a model community designed by Walt Disney. Services are offered to treat and heal but also focus on preventing illness and promotion of good health to fulfill the mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication- related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Established more than 20 years ago, the PGY1 focused in ambulatory care at AdventHealth Celebration is an ASHP accredited program that provides an opportunity for motivated individuals to gain experience in many facets of primary care/ambulatory care pharmacy. The PGY1 residents will work collaboratively with experienced pharmacists as well as multi-disciplinary healthcare teams to provide guideline-directed care in Anticoagulation Management, Transition Clinic, and Medication Management Clinic. These clinics cover a broad range of ambulatory care disease states including, but not limited to: diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, valvular disease, COPD, ACS, stroke, and VTE. Additionally, traditional acute care services including general medicine, internal medicine, and elective opportunities in internal medicine II, emergency medicine, critical care, cardiovascular medicine, infectious diseases, advanced oncology, pulmonary medicine, and hospital administration will provide a well-rounded residency experience to prepare residents to work in a variety of pharmacy settings.

Thank you for your interest in our program and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
