Radiation oncologist Dr. Irfan Ahmed has joined AdventHealth Medical Group and will care for Flagler and St. Johns patients with cancer at AdventHealth Palm Coast.
As an AdventHealth Medical Group team member, Ahmed joins more than 400 health care providers, including 250 primary care physicians and specialists in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties.
A board-certified radiation oncologist, he earned his medical degree at the University of Mysore and completed a residency in internal medicine at UPMC McKeesport in Pennsylvania and fellowship in radiation oncology at the University of South Florida at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Ahmed also earned a Master of Science in speech and hearing from the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Missouri.
“With my most recent five years of experience at AdventHealth Fish Memorial in western Volusia County, I am excited to bring my expertise in cancer treatment to the Flagler County community,” said Ahmed. “AdventHealth’s commitment to whole-person health aligns perfectly with my approach to patient care and I am proud to be part of an organization that is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care."
AdventHealth Palm Coast is part of the AdventHealth system, one of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems and the only national, non-profit system headquartered in Florida.
Last year, AdventHealth diagnosed more cancer patients than any other health care system in the state and is committed to providing access to clinical trials and groundbreaking therapies close to home, to everyone in Florida.
Ahmed’s practice accepts most insurance plans and new patients ages 18 years and older. His clinic is located at AdventHealth Palm Coast, 60 Memorial Medical Pkwy., and his office phone number is Call386-586-2060. His practice will move into the Freytag Medical Plaza when construction is completed in early 2025. When it opens, this two-story facility will serve as a vital hub for comprehensive cancer treatment and primary care services at AdventHealth Palm Coast.
