Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care Opens Fourth Location in Shawnee

Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care has opened its fourth location in Shawnee, Kan. Shawnee Centra Care is located at 11245 Shawnee Mission Parkway and joins locations already in Lenexa, Overland Park and Olathe.

Shawnee Centra Care, as well as the other three locations, is a partnership between Shawnee Mission Health (SMH) and Centra Care, both of which are part of Adventist Health System. All four sites are staffed with Board-certified physicians, registered nurses and radiology technicians to provide immediate, same-day care. Each location has an on-site laboratory and an X-ray facility to provide convenient care for walk-in patients. In addition, online reservations are available for all four locations. Each location is also able to fill common prescriptions for patients on-site.

"Our fourth Centra Care location in the metropolitan area is an extension of the Shawnee Mission Health network, allowing us to provide whole-person care for urgent but non-life threatening issues in another location that is close to where our patients live and work," said SMH's Vice President Ambulatory Network Robin Harrold.

Shawnee Centra Care is open 8 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday and 8 am to 5 pm on weekends. The center offers treatment for a variety of non-life threatening illnesses and injuries in both adults and children including colds, flu, sore throats, earaches, stomach aches, cuts, broken bones and sprains.

Shawnee Centra Care also offers comprehensive business health services and workers compensation to local businesses, as do the other locations. The occupational health services provided by Centra Care sites include drug testing services, health risk appraisals, occupational health examinations, on-site lab screenings, Department of Transportation examinations and other employment physicals.
