On August 9, local civic clubs honored first responders at the annual FrontLine Awards luncheon to honor non-police first responders for their service to the safety of the community.
AdventHealth Redmond paramedic, Lieutenant Rickey Cooper, was selected to represent AdventHealth as the recipient of the FrontLine Award. The award acknowledged Cooper's devotion to duty and for the contributions he makes in frontline services to his community. The FrontLine Award was presented at a banquet hosted by the Rome Noon Optimist Club, Rome Kiwanis Club, Rome Lions Club and the Seven Hills Rotary Club.
"This award was well deserved. Rickey is calm in the storm and is always courteous and professional," said Scotty Hancock, AdventHealth Redmond director of business development.
Cooper started as a paramedic at AdventHealth Redmond after receiving his paramedic certification three years ago. He enjoys the fast-paced, ever-changing environment with constant opportunities and challenges that allow him to grow. Cooper credits his team of supervisors and coworkers that allow patient care to be performed at the highest standard and finds a sense of calm reassurance from his team while providing emergency medical care.
“Any recognition I receive is directly related to the training and teachings from those around me. I am very much blessed to be constantly surrounded by inspirational people who continuously seek to provide the highest standard of professional care to every patient we encounter,” said Cooper.
