For Your Whole-Person Care
- Advanced Surgical Options Including Minimally Invasive Procedures
It’s natural to feel nervous about surgery, but we're here to put your mind at ease. The team of surgical experts at AdventHealth Sebring, formerly Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, is by your side at every turn with advanced care and compassionate support. This might mean an innovative, minimally invasive surgery using robotics. Or it could mean a more traditional approach. Our surgical specialists will tailor a treatment plan to your needs and recovery goals.
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)
We have some of the most respected surgeons in the country who are not only pioneering new MIS techniques, but teaching them to other surgeons worldwide. Benefits of MIS procedures include:
- Decreased risk of infection
- Less scarring
- Reduced blood loss
- Shorter hospital stays and recovery time
- Smaller incisions
With the help of innovative surgical devices and remotely controlled instrumentation, surgeons can make a few small incisions (and sometimes just one) instead of the large ones required in the past to perform your procedure.
Using state-of-the-art surgical tools such as the da Vinci® IS robotic system, our surgeons can operate with greater visibility and precision, resulting in improved patient outcomes.
Endoscopic General Surgery
For this minimally invasive procedure, your surgeon will insert a thin, flexible tube with a tiny camera at the end (the endoscope) into your body through a small incision or natural opening, like your mouth or nose. Once the endoscope is in, your surgeon can then pass small surgical instruments through it to perform the operation while seeing the surgical area on a computer monitor.
General surgeries that may be performed via endoscopy include:
- Anti-reflux procedures
- Hernia repair
- Liver and gallbladder procedures
- Pancreatic surgeries
- Weight-loss (bariatric) procedures
We’re honored that you’ve chosen us to guide you through this stage of your journey to wellness. Our caring experts are committed to your whole health — in body, mind and spirit.
