Devon Goldman, RN, a nurse in AdventHealth Murray’s emergency department, recently completed a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) course.
As a certified sexual assault nurse examiner, Goldman can now provide specialized care for sexual assault victims of all ages. Goldman’s SANE training was provided by Mosaic Georgia, a dual services center with the goal of enhancing safety, health and justice for all victims of sexual assault. The course is 72 hours total over a two-month period of time.
“Victims of sexual assault are a very vulnerable population that deserve specialized care,” said Tammy Bagley, manager of the emergency department at AdventHealth Murray. “A SANE nurse provides this care not only in the forensic arena, but also with training that focuses on the highly sensitive needs of these patients. Devon will be helping fulfill our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ to those in our community who are going through an extremely difficult time in their lives.”
