Florida Hospital DeLand Names New Lab Director

DELAND, Fla. July 20, 2016 Florida Hospital DeLand has promoted Myra Soto from laboratory manager to director of laboratory services.

In this role, Soto will provide overall direction for the laboratory department and will be responsible for planning, financial details and personnel management and development.

Soto has nearly 21 years of experience, almost all of which has been with Adventist Health System. She previously worked at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial for 18 years.

Soto received her bachelors degree in medical laboratory sciences from the University of Central Florida in 1995 and her masters in management from Universidad Metropolitana in 2010. She is also a certified medical technologist, earning a certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and becoming a licensed clinical laboratory supervisor.
