Cancer Survivor Throws Out First Pitch at Stetson University Baseball Game

DELAND, Fla., May 8, 2017 On April 25, DeLand resident Neftali Morales, 50, threw out the first pitch during Stetson University's baseball game against Florida State University.

Morales is a prostate cancer survivor and recently finished treatment at Florida Hospital DeLand.

Neftali was chosen for this honor to celebrate his completion of cancer treatment and subsequent remission, said Ann DeCarr, Florida Hospital DeLand cancer care navigator. He has a love for baseball and his kind spirit has truly touched our cancer care team. We are so proud of Neftali and are excited to share this special opportunity with him.
