PALM COAST, Fla., March 11, 2016 On March 3, Palm Coast-based event planning and management company Divine Events donated $3,000 to the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center at Florida Hospital Flagler.

The funds were raised via a black tie soiree on Feb. 27 to honor the late Gloria Samuels Tobin at the Hilton Garden Inn. Tobin was a Palm Coast resident and beloved mother of six children and battled breast cancer.

Michele Gordon, Tobin's youngest daughter and the owner of Divine Events, worked with her siblings to host the sellout fundraiser to benefit the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center.

With nearly 125 in attendance, this event was a success and Divine Events has pledged to host this fundraiser annually. The next event will be February 2017, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Palm Coast.

Divine Events has truly touched our hearts and their donation will help so many people in our area, said Debbie Ridgley, Florida Hospital Flagler volunteer and current chairwoman of the Judith C. Cancer Resource Center. Like so many in our community, Michele and her family have been sadly touched by cancer. Because of their experience, they understand what the Cancer Resource Center provides and can truly appreciate their services.

Any cancer patient can visit the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center, located on the first floor of Florida Hospital Flagler in the Cancer Center.

Florida Hospital Flagler opened the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Center in February 2010. It offers an extensive collection of books, brochures, articles and videotapes about cancer. Cancer patients and their families, and community members, such as health professionals, students, and teachers are welcome to use all of the library's free services. In addition, cancer patients can receive wigs, head coverings, mastectomy bras and prostheses, all free of charge.
