Hospice Volunteering and Donations

You Can Help Us Make a Lasting Difference

AdventHealth Hospice is a not-for-profit, faith-based hospice service. Built on the biblical values of compassion, service, charity, faith, honesty, dignity and mercy, our hospice patients receive the highest level of end-of-life care from an expert, compassionate team of health care professionals.

When you partner with us through charitable giving or hospice care volunteering, you provide ongoing support to hospice patients in their homes, assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals and inpatient facilities.

Providing Compassionate Care With Your Generosity

It’s our honor to care for patients during their final journeys, as well as provide peace and comfort for the loved ones who have to say goodbye. The charitable donations from generous people like you empower us to continue to provide this level of compassionate care and support. No matter the size, every gift makes a difference for our patients and their families.

Volunteering Roles

Your main role will be patient and family support, but there’s a variety of opportunities to find what best fits your talents and schedule, including:

Respite Care

Volunteers stay with a patient to give family members some time off.

Support

Volunteers provide companionship, a listening ear and practical assistance through sharing hobbies, reading aloud and offering emotional support.

Vigil Presence

With their presence, volunteers help patients and family members feel less alone on their journey. It can be comforting to have someone sit quietly at the bedside, hold a hand or whisper words of comfort. Volunteers can help create a peaceful atmosphere for families, listening to stories about their loved ones or helping them say goodbye.

Inpatient Care

Volunteers offer comfort and care to patients and assistance to hospice care staff at our inpatient locations.
