A Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Opening our state-of-the-art Level II NICU at The Baby Place at AdventHealth Hendersonville will allow us to accept mothers as early as 32 weeks’ gestation. This unit will have three private rooms and two stabilization bays, which are unique and will allow us to create additional privacy for families while visiting their babies.
The NICU will provide lifesaving medical care to sick of premature newborns. Care will include:
- Low Birth Weight: Babies born with a low body weight due to premature birth or other health issues.
- Moderately Ill: Babies born with problems that are expected to get better quickly, and who aren’t anticipated to need urgent specialty care
- Advanced Imaging: Babies who need advanced imaging like CT scans, ultrasounds, and echocardiograms.
- Feeding Support: Babies who need long-term nutritional support through intravenous or gastric tube

Advanced Cardiac Care with a Mobile Catheterization Lab
Cardiac catheterization is a test or treatment for certain heart or blood vessel problems, such as clogged arteries or irregular heartbeat. The catheterization lab will offer heart and interventional radiology procedures. This includes right and left diagnostic heart catheterizations, simple stenting, and radiology procedures, with plans to expand services in the future. This will give people with heart health issues much-needed local access to advanced cardiac care.
The new Cath Lab will provide you or your loved one with life-saving heart treatment. Care will include:
- Diagnostic Heart Catheterizations
- Stenting
- Interventional Radiology Procedures
