Testicular cancer develops in one or both testicles and is often found in younger men. It is a very treatable and curable disease if caught early. According to the American Cancer Society, just under 8,600 new cases of testicular cancer will be diagnosed in 2012. Unlike many other forms of cancer, this disease is not common; the chances of a man developing testicular cancer in his lifetime are about one in 270. Moreover, with today’s advanced treatments, the risk of dying from the disease is very low - estimated at about one in 5,000. Treatments for testicular cancer may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and vaccine therapy.
