Headaches and Migraines
Headaches are characterized by aching, pressure, and sometimes a throbbing sensation in the head. Cluster headaches, sinus headaches and especially migraines are kinds of headache that can be especially debilitating while they are occurring – with migraines being particularly severe and often accompanied by nausea, light sensitivity, vision problems and even vomiting in addition to normal headache systems. Common headache triggers include dehydration, sinus congestion, trauma (as in a concussion), stress, bright lights, loud noises, sleep deprivation, not getting enough to eat, certain medications, excessive physical activity and hormonal changes. Your physician can help you determine the cause of your chronic headaches and devise an effective treatment plan that may include medication, relaxation exercises, trigger avoidance strategies, heat therapy and more.
