Group Therapy
Group therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which a therapist works with up to a dozen patients during the same session. Typically, members of the group will be at various stages of their treatment so that those just starting with the group can benefit from the experience of those who are recovering from similar experiences. Group members can learn from and help one another by sharing information, providing emotional support, offering feedback and socially interacting with one another in a safe and supportive environment. Group therapy can be an effective treatment option for those who are coping with substance abuse, domestic violence, loss of a loved one, traumatic events, and more. It can also be a source of much-needed support for caregivers of chronically ill patients.
