Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a procedure in which a part of the skin is frozen in order to treat a disease or skin condition. It is often used to treat benign tumors, warts or lesions on the surface or below the skin. Once the affected area is frozen, the diseased tissue eventually dies and either falls off or is removed, allowing the surrounding healthy tissue to grow back. Many people experience some discomfort and slight pain during cryotherapy. The location and severity of the lesion being treated are factors in this case. Some common side effects include stinging and redness of the skin. In rare cases, patients with sensitive skin may experience some swelling and blistering – this is common. but be sure to speak to your doctor if pain lasts for an extended period of time.
