About Our Program
AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is a 393-bed community hospital located in the greater Orlando metropolitan area. As Seminole County’s most preferred hospital, we are committed to improving the lives of people in our Central Florida community, and around the world. Services include a comprehensive spine and orthopedics institute as well as a cancer institute, nationally recognized cardiac care, primary stroke center designation, a 28-bed critical care unit and expertly guided emergency medical services. Our staff takes pride in caring for each patient like a member of their own family, and with a steadfast devotion to our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.
The Pharmacy Department’s dedication to excellence in patient care is exemplified in our Promise Statement: “We promise to provide the highest possible quality of pharmacy services that will result in optimal medication outcomes for our patients. We are committed to developing an environment that encourages excellence, teamwork and continuous quality improvement.”
To help achieve the goals expressed in the Promise Statement, the Department of Pharmacy at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs established an ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency Program in 2014. The program expands both clinical and staffing services at our facility and augments the excellent pharmacy staff we currently have. Residents will participate in a decentralized pharmacy model and work with multidisciplinary teams, monitoring responses to drug therapy and optimizing care to improve patient outcomes. Residents who complete the residency program will develop the critical thinking skills necessary to provide patient-focused care and become confident and independent clinicians amongst the health care team.
