About Our Program
Welcome to the AdventHealth Orlando PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program. The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program at AdventHealth Orlando has been in existence for more than 30 years and accredited by ASHP continuously since 1999. During this 12-month program, the residents focus will be on professional development while having full exposure to a spectrum of diverse patient populations.
Training pharmacy residents is core to our values and beliefs, and we take a personalized approach to prepare our residents to lead the field. We are a large program training 16 PGY-1 and 13 PGY-2 pharmacy residents every academic year. Our PGY-1 program offers 5 required and 46 unique elective rotation opportunities precepted by 82 specialized pharmacists on our Clinical, Operations, and Leadership teams. Our program is accredited by the American Society for Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and has been continuously so since 1999. Our campus also educates medical and surgical residents as well as critical care and neurocritical care fellows; with whom you will have ample opportunity to train.
AdventHealth Orlando is the National flagship of the AdventHealth Enterprise which consists of over 50 hospitals in more than 12 States. Our campus is a 1368-bed comprehensive quaternary care mixed academic/private practice referral center. We house the only accredited Extracorporeal Membranous Oxygenation and Pulmonary Hypertension Programs in Central Florida, and the only Bone Marrow and Comprehensive Solid Organ Transplant Programs in the AdventHealth Enterprise.
We look forward to seeing you on campus!
