DELAND, Fla. – Vascular surgeon Dr. Edwin Cheung joined AdventHealth Medical Group and primarily cares for patients in West Volusia county at AdventHealth DeLand.
As an AdventHealth Medical Group team member, Cheung joins more than 400 health care providers, including 250 primary care physicians and specialists in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties.
“My wife also works for AdventHealth, and what drew us to the organization was the philosophy on looking out for the patient as a whole, and their whole care process,” Cheung said.
As AdventHealth Medical Group’s first vascular surgeon in the West Volusia area, Cheung provides a full spectrum of vascular services at AdventHealth DeLand with a focus on aortic aneurysms, carotid and peripheral artery limb preservation, and more. Depending on the unique needs of the patient and the personalized nuances of their case, Cheung will also perform some complex vascular procedures at AdventHealth Daytona Beach as well.
Cheung earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in integrated vascular surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. He is also a researcher and has worked with numerous prestigious universities on medical research projects.
“I love that the West Volusia area has that true small town feel where you can get to know your patients, follow their care and build those relationships for the rest of their lives,” he said.
Cheung’s practice accepts most insurance plans and patients 18 and older. His office is located inside the medical office building at AdventHealth DeLand, 1070 N. Stone St., Suite C, and can be reached at
