Texas Health Resources and Adventist Health System are building a new health care campus in Mansfield, one of the fastest growing areas of North Texas.
Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, scheduled to open in late 2020, will offer a full variety of services, including a 24/7 emergency room, general surgery, women's care, orthopedics and interventional cardiology. With an initial capacity of 83 beds, construction on the 4-story, 195,400-square-foot facility will begin this fall. At a total cost of $150 million, the campus will also include an 80,000-square-foot medical office building that will house primary care and specialty practices."
Every part of this campus has been designed with the people of Mansfield and nearby communities in mind," said Barclay E. Berdan, FACHE, CEO of Texas Health Resources. "They want quality care close to home. With our friends at Adventist Health System, we look forward to providing these services to this growing community."
The project is a joint-venture between Texas Health and Adventist Health System. The two faith-based organizations have a long history of collaboration; Huguley Memorial, an Adventist Health System hospital, affiliated with the Texas Health system in 2012. Now known as Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South, the 356-bed facility is a joint venture between the two health systems, serving residents of Ellis, Johnson and Tarrant counties."
This project is a continuation of the great relationship between our two organizations," said Randy Haffner, senior executive vice president and CEO of the Multi-State Division for Adventist Health System. "We're coming together as two organizations to build a one-of-a-kind health care campus ' with the single aim to provide the Mansfield community with unmatched services where they live, work and play."
The new Mansfield project, a 38-acre campus located on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 287 and Lone Star Road in the Johnson County area of Mansfield, will be Texas Health's second major facility in Mansfield. The system opened Texas Health Recovery and Wellness Center, an adult substance abuse treatment facility in 2017. It's located about 3 miles north of the future hospital site."
We want to offer a broad range of services to this rapidly growing community, from preventive and primary care to advanced diagnostics and interventions," Berdan said. "This new campus will meet these needs and be ready to expand as the community continues to grow around it."
Covering 50 square miles, Mansfield is located primarily in southeastern Tarrant County, with areas stretching into Ellis and Johnson counties. The city has expanded rapidly in recent years, with a population growth rate of more than 10 percent from 2011-17. The city is expected to grow from 228,244 residents in 2017 to more than 251,000 by 2022.
To address this future growth, all elements of Texas Health Mansfield have the capacity to grow, using an efficient, cost-effective design model."
We want this to be a health care campus that offers acute-care services," Haffner said, "while also creating a warm, healing environment for all those who come through our doors."
