AdventHealth announces the addition of Holly Capps, MPAS, PA-C, to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Forge Mountain*. Capps, a board-certified physician assistant, will be serving alongside her father, Robert L Smith, MD, in providing comprehensive and compassionate family medicine care for patients of all ages. This partnership continues a legacy of care, ensuring that the community receives the highest quality health care, delivered from their family to yours.
Capps earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. She then went on to complete her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Wingate University Physician Assistant Program in Hendersonville, NC.
Capps is committed to providing patient-centered care that is centered around meeting each patient where they are, both physically and emotionally. She integrates her background in fitness training and wellness coaching into her new role, where she strives to be a source of support for wholistic wellbeing.
“I want patients to know that as their health care provider, they can always count on me for care that is compassionate, supportive, and judgement-free,” Capps explains. “I am here for them, not just as a health care provider, but also as someone who truly listens and cares. They can trust me to always prioritize their well-being.”
As a family medicine physician assistant, Capps will be providing preventative screenings, health and lifestyle counseling, chronic disease management, managing acute illness and injuries, and providing women’s health exams. She collaborates with patients in managing their physical condition as she provides whole-person care for their body, mind and spirit.
Capps is excited to be joining her father, Dr. Smith, in delivering that whole-person care to every patient, every time. As a native of Hendersonville, she is excited to be giving back to the community she loves and providing convenient health care options for their entire family.
“I’ve had the privilege of growing up in this community, and over the years, I’ve come to see the people here as my extended family,” Capps shares. “The connections I’ve formed and the support I’ve received have deeply shaped who I am today. I am sincerely invested in this community and would like to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those around me.”
Capps and her husband live in Hendersonville, NC. She shares that she feels most whole when she surrounds herself with her loved ones. She enjoys practicing yoga, spending time in nature, and trying out new recipes.
