Kailash Kulkarni, MD, recognized with Extra Mile Award

Kailash Kulkarni, MD, was recently awarded Gordon Hospitals prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospitals Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospitals directors.

Dr. Kulkarni, assistant chief hospitalist at Gordon Hospital, was nominated by the case management team with the following words: Dr. Kulkarni always goes the extra mile for patients and staff. He has taken his own money in order to help patients with their needs, which has happened several times. We have seen Dr. Kulkarni gown up to deliver food trays to isolation patients and perform various acts of kindness and selflessness for both patients and staff. We are blessed to have him at Gordon Hospital.

Dr. Kulkarni received his medical degree from Government Medical College in Surat, India, and completed his residency at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Kulkarni is board-certified in internal medicine and has been a member of the Gordon Hospital medical staff since 2011.
