DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 21, 2017 On July 19, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center named hospitalist Dr. Christopher Riccard as the physician of the quarter.
Hospitalists are physicians whose primary professional focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. These physicians work in the hospital, caring for inpatients, and can be more readily available to patients than a doctor who has their own office. By focusing on the care of hospitalized patients, a hospitalist has experience and expertise on the unique aspects of a patient's needs during a hospital stay.
Dr. Riccard was selected to receive this award based on feedback from patients and family members, and was voted on by our own nursing staff, said Ed Noseworthy, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center CEO. He is an excellent physician and physician leader with a wonderful bedside manner and couldn't be more deserving of this recognition.
One patient nomination noted Riccards compassionate and patient-centered disposition during their stay in the 327-bed Daytona Beach hospital, stating, Dr. Riccard was very caring, never rushed and answered all my questions. He even took time to speak with my daughter in Jacksonville.
Riccard is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He graduated from Ross University School of Medicine and completed a residency in family medicine at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, a nonprofit community healthcare system.
