Brandi Dutton, Darla McEntyre and Ashley Hill were recently awarded AdventHealth Gordon’s prestigious Service Standard Award.
This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s leadership team.
These team members were nominated by Nancy Sharp, director of AdventHealth Home Care Gordon. Over the last year, the home care team began monitoring COVID-19 patients who didn’t qualify for hospital admission but would still benefit from nurse monitoring. Using a tele-health app, home care nurses monitor these patients’ symptoms and speak with them daily.
“Brandi Dutton, Darla McEntyre and Ashley Hill, all nurses, have performed this task seven-days-a-week without complaint and sometimes having as many as 20 patients a day to call,” said Sharp. “They have gone above and beyond by listening, monitoring, giving good advice and even taking equipment to patients’ homes if needed. Documentation must also be entered in the app. I have had multiple compliments about our program and how these ladies have shown care and concern, even offering to have prayer with the patients. I know lives have been saved as a result of their astute assessments and sending the patients for further care as needed. To date, almost 100 patients have been in the program. Brandi, Darla and Ashley have truly exemplified all our service standards. They are keeping patients safe, showing love, making it easy and owning it.”
