29 August 2017 - Manchester, KY: Manchester Memorial Hospitals $9.4 million building project, officially kicked off today with hospital leaders and invited guests taking part in a groundbreaking ceremony on the hospital campus. When complete, the new physician clinic building will include a new modernized two-story, 27,000+ square-foot space, that will house 60 exam rooms. The new building will further help address the health care needs of residents by offering services that include pediatrics, women's care, internal medicine and family medicine.
Erika Skula, CEO/President of the Manchester Memorial Hospital conducted the ceremony and stated, Healthcare in our community is driven by our patients access to and relationship with their primary care providers. By making such a significant investment into our community, Adventist Health System and Manchester Memorial Hospital is making it clear that we are committed to providing the very best care to Clay County and all of the people we serve.
Present at the occasion and representing the community were Senator Stivers, President of the Kentucky State Senate along with Johnny Johnson, the County Judge Executive, Ed Garrison, Mayor, James Phillips, Circuit Court Clerk, Board members and employees of the hospital and other community members.
During the ceremony, the Stay In Clay group, represented by 3 students, performed an original song based on the history of Clay County. Speaking at the occasion, Senator Stivers remarked, We are blessed to have this hospital in our community and the changes its bringing for the better. We are now thinking of the past but looking towards the future; the future is bright, it has great opportunity and the potential is here, the talent is here, we just need to have the commitment. And that commitment has been shown by the Adventist Health System by investing close to twenty million dollars and creating almost thirty more jobs in this area. Its a wonderful day for Clay County.
Citing the need to meet demand for healthcare services from Clay County and surrounding communities, hospital COO Chris Self said the expansion will not only create much-needed space, but create better efficiencies and an improved patient-physician experience. Manchester Memorial Hospital is proud of Clay County and committed to providing the very best services to meet the needs of our community. This addition to our campus will greatly benefit our ability to take care of more patients and to give them the best experience for all of their healthcare needs, right here in Manchester, said Self.
The completion date for the project is scheduled for July 2018.
