Underprivileged children will once again have a brighter Christmas in Gordon County thanks to Gordon Hospitals Emergency Medical Services (EMS). A 22-year-old tradition of giving continues as Gordon EMS staff begins collecting toys for the 22nd annual Make a Kid Smile toy drive.
Our community has continually supported this toy drive year after year, said Mark Bramblett, Gordon EMS captain. We hope to benefit and reach as many families in need as possible in Gordon County.
Focusing on achieving the 100-100-100 goal, Gordon EMS hopes to receive donations from at least 100 organizations or individuals of at least $100 each, which will benefit hundreds of children in Gordon County. Monetary donations of any amount are also accepted and appreciated.
Gordon EMS employees are volunteering their time to collect donations. They will be collecting at Walmart Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 8-9 from 9 am to 6 pm.
All toys collected through the annual drive will be given to the Voluntary Action Center (VAC) to distribute to qualifying families in Gordon County. All toys and monetary donations stay within Gordon County to benefit the children in our community.
Donations can be picked up by calling Call706-506-0369, or by emailing mark.bramblett@adventhealth.com. The deadline for donations is Dec. 13, 2018, and all 100-100-100 participants will be recognized.
