We have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level of medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy. We have been awarded level 4 designation by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
Our epilepsy team is comprised of epileptologists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, mid-level providers, nurses, social workers and other support staff. In addition, we work with more than 30 sub-specialties to provide optimal care for our patients. To diagnose epilepsy and determine the best treatment options, our team uses the most advanced technology and testing including magnetoencephalography (MEG), video electroencephalography (vEEG), 3TMRI, fMRI, Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), Positon Emission Tomography (PET), genetic and metabolic testing and testing for auto-immune disorders. We offer treatment with medications, Ketogenic diet, immune therapies and surgical options, which include cortical resections and cortical disconnections, corpus callosotomy and functional hemispherectomy. We offer both subdural EEG and stereo EEG to narrow down seizure onset and to find the important functional areas. In selected cases, we offer minimally invasive surgery using ROSA robotic system and laser ablation to minimize the risks and pain associated with conventional surgery.
