ORLANDO, Fla. - AdventHealth University will help fill high-demand job roles throughout the U.S. through its new High School Workforce Development Certificates program.
“AHU is committed to playing a vital role in the health care workforce pipeline, both locally and throughout the country,” said C. Josef Ghosn, EdD, FACHE, president and CEO of AdventHealth University. “These certificates are one important way we are developing highly skilled individuals who practice health care as a ministry.”
Coursework is online and self-paced, with completion possible in as little as six weeks to 25 weeks. All end with a national certification exam, and the Pharmacy Tech Professional course requires 160 clinical hours. The six certificates offered are:
- Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
- Medical Office Assistant
- Electronic Health Records Management
- Medical Terminology
- Medical Administrative Assistant
- Pharmacy Technician
“Earning a professional certificate is an excellent way to begin a career in health care,” said Olesea Azevedo, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for AdventHealth and a member of AHU’s Board of Trustees. "Exposure to the health care industry, especially at AdventHealth’s world-class care centers, reveals a world of innovation, compassion, and healing."
