As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an end, AdventHealth Georgia takes pride in celebrating the cultural richness and valuable contributions of its Hispanic team members. Each individual brings a unique story, shaped by their heritage, that enhances the compassionate environment in which they work and the quality of care they provide.

For Suly Cronon, her journey is not just about her seven years at AdventHealth Murray but about the legacy of her family’s resilience. They came to the U.S. seeking better opportunities, and Suly embodies their hopes by giving back to others. Her ability to speak with patients in their native language provides comfort during vulnerable times, allowing her to bring smiles to faces when they are needed most. Suly's dedication reflects not only her passion for patient care but also her pride in her cultural roots.

Camille Calcano Contreras, MD, has spent six years at AdventHealth splitting her time between AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray. For Dr. Calcano Contreras, her Dominican heritage runs deep, woven into the values of family and community that shape her approach to patient care. At AdventHealth, where sharing God’s love is a core value, she feels fully embraced, allowing her to offer compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients from various backgrounds. Her work is a living testament to the values instilled in her by her heritage.

Cinthia Cox, NP, who works with AdventHealth Medical Group Ear, Nose and Throat at Calhoun, draws strength from the deep connections she forms with her patients. Eight years at AdventHealth have not only deepened her appreciation for the Christian-based environment but also allowed her to honor her Hispanic roots through patient care. She brings comfort to those who may feel isolated by language barriers, reassuring them through shared cultural experiences. Cinthia’s ability to bridge the gap for non-English-speaking patients helps make AdventHealth a place where everyone feels understood and valued.

The scent of traditional Mexican dishes often comes to mind for Frank Nunez, especially during Hispanic Heritage Month, as it brings back cherished memories of family gatherings. As Practice Manager of Medical Group Primary Care at W 10 Street and with 13 years of service at AdventHealth, Frank integrates these cultural traditions into his approach to whole-person care, understanding that a patient's emotional and spiritual well-being are as crucial as their physical health. He values AdventHealth's commitment to caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—because it aligns with the holistic values of his own heritage.

For Judy Cameron at AdventHealth Redmond, Hispanic Heritage Month is not only a time for celebration but also for reflection on the diverse cultural experiences that have shaped her identity. Over the last eight years, she has used her role to contribute to meaningful change within her community, touching lives in ways that go beyond the hospital walls. The diverse environment at AdventHealth allows Judy to bring her whole self to work, enriching the lives of her patients and colleagues with her cultural perspective.

Lastly, Guadalupe Hurtiz, who works with AdventHealth Medical Group Pediatrics at Shorter Avenue, has found nearly five years of joy in sharing the unity and family focus that are at the heart of her Hispanic heritage. Whether it’s through food, holiday traditions, or stories passed down through generations, Guadalupe embraces her culture and the role it plays in building strong relationships with her team. Her commitment to extending the healing ministry of Christ embodies the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month, creating an atmosphere where warmth and inclusivity thrive.
Together, these stories highlight the heart and spirit that Hispanic team members bring to AdventHealth. They are not just caregivers; they are cultural ambassadors who blend their heritage with the mission to provide whole-person care. As AdventHealth celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, it is with a deep appreciation for the ways these individuals help make a meaningful impact—one patient, one smile, one moment at a time.
