Mary Callahan, RN, has been named AdventHealth Gordon’s latest DAISY Award recipient. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the super-human tasks nurses perform every day.
Callahan, an ICU nurse at AdventHealth Gordon, was nominated by a patient’s family member who said the following:
“Mary was my mother's nurse in the ICU. It was an incredibly difficult time for me and my dad. Mary helped us understand what was happening as well as provide great care for my mom. She did most of the physical care herself and did not just depend on the tech. She was on top of all the medications and was in the room constantly. We never had to look for her or wonder where she went. Mary is an excellent nurse.”
“She has a great personality, is intelligent, understanding and doesn't shy away from hard work. Mary was a great comfort to us during the most difficult days of our lives. Nominating her here is only a small thank you for what she did for us.”
If you or a loved one have been a patient at AdventHealth Gordon and would like to nominate an extraordinary nurse for the DAISY Award, please call Call706-602-7800 x2258.
