Brenda Trejo recognized with Extra Mile Award

Brenda Trejo was recently awarded Gordon Hospitals prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospitals Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospitals directors.

Trejo, a medical office assistant at Northwest Georgia Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, was nominated by her co-worker, Ashlee Murphy, with the following words: Brenda is constantly praised by her fellow co-workers for going above and beyond with patients. She is our translator for our Spanish-speaking patients. We also have a hearing-impaired patient that we must use the language line to communicate with. Brenda started learning sign language so that she could still greet and communicate with the patient to make him feel more welcomed in our office. She is a true sentiment of our mission.
