AdventHealth Shawnee Mission (AHSM) has expanded its primary care network with the opening of Shawnee Mission Primary Care Blue Valley. SMH welcomes physicians Jason Bessey, DO and Lauren Bessey, DO to serve the Blue Valley community, which includes Overland Park, Leawood, Olathe and Stillwell.
With the opening of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Primary Care Blue Valley, we look forward to providing primary care closer to home for the Blue Valley community in southeastern Johnson County, said Scott Woods, chief operating officer of the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Physician Enterprise.
The Besseys, who are a married couple, went to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and both completed their residency at Research Family Practice.
We are honored to welcome Drs. Jason and Lauren Bessey to our primary care network to provide personalized care to our patients in the Blue Valley community, said Dr. Greg Sweat, chief medical officer of the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Physicians Group.
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Primary Care Blue Valley is temporarily located at Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care at 9099 W. 135th Street in Overland Park. The office will move to its permanent location on the AHSM Blue Valley campus in early 2017. The new space will feature modern amenities and a layout tailored to improve the patient experience.
AHSM broke ground on its Blue Valley campus in October 2015. Located at the intersection of 159th Street and US 69 Highway in Overland Park, the facility is part of the new BluHawk development and will feature an emergency department, laboratory, imaging center, and a medical office building. The first phase is expected to open in early 2017.
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Primary Care Blue Valley is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. For an appointment, call Call913-373-2230, or request an appointment online. In addition, patients can visit MyHealthKC.com, a resource from AHSM that helps patients find not just a doctor but the right doctor in a matter of seconds.
