KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Residents of Osceola County now have access to high-quality hospice care through the AdventHealth Hospice Care Inpatient Unit at AdventHealth Kissimmee. The new hospice wing is expected to care for more than 2,000 patients each year.
The new wing, located on the first floor of AdventHealth Kissimmee, is the first and only hospice care inpatient unit in Osceola County. It has five private rooms, which include a full private bathroom and plenty of space for family members. A high level of care will be provided to patients according to their individualized care plan focused on end-of-life comfort, and modalities for pain relief.

"We strive to deliver the most advanced, comprehensive and compassionate health care services to the individuals and families we serve," said Sheila Rankin, CEO of AdventHealth Kissimmee. “Our goal is to help patients feel whole through every stage of their life.”
When symptoms cannot be managed at home, patients can be admitted to the inpatient unit for a short period of time, with the goal of returning the patient home once the symptoms are under control.
The unit is staffed by a comprehensive clinical team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and bereavement experts, ensuring patients and their families receive the medical and emotional support they need during end-of-life care.
“We are thankful to be able to offer our newest AdventHealth Hospice Care Inpatient Unit as our continued commitment to providing compassionate care close to home,” said Bryan Wright, chief operating officer of Home Health and Hospice at AdventHealth. “We have a tremendous responsibility as we provide this level of care to our patients and their families at the most difficult of times. It is an honor to be part of their family and have the opportunity to provide lifelong support.”
AdventHealth Hospice Care offers services in Flagler, Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties.
