TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (Tuesday, August 29, 2023) -- The safety of our patients, team members and community is our top priority at AdventHealth North Pinellas. We have been in constant communication with state and local emergency management teams throughout our preparation for Hurricane Idalia.
Given our location and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, along with the projected storm surge of 5-7 feet and mandatory evacuation orders, we are evacuating our AdventHealth North Pinellas hospital in Tarpon Springs out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our patients, visitors and team members.
We have canceled and will reschedule all elective procedures for Tuesday and Wednesday (including surgeries, imaging, rehab, Cath Lab, endoscopies, and any other elective department procedures) and will resume procedures when it is safe to do so.
We are safely relocating more than 60 patients to other AdventHealth hospitals in the region by 12 pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
The AdventHealth ER in Palm Harbor will remain open indefinitely.
