AdventHealth Dade City Introduces A New Option for Acid Reflux

Affecting one in every five Americans, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the most prevalent gastrointestinal disease in the United States. AdventHealth Dade City is the first hospital in Pasco county to offer the LINX Reflux Management System (LINX). The LINX is an exciting, new surgical option that eliminates the symptoms caused by GERD.

The LINX system consists of a small, flexible band of magnets that are surgically placed around a weak esophageal sphincter, just above the stomach, helping prevent reflux.

The LINX Reflux Management System does not require a surgical alteration of the stomach and it is also less invasive than traditional GERD surgery.
