Service is part of the fabric of the culture of AdventHealth. Last year, leaders across AdventHealth Georgia dreamed of a day in which team members would use their skills and talents to make a tangible difference with local nonprofit organizations. This dream became a reality on Friday, Apr. 19, 2024.
Team members from AdventHealth Murray, AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Redmond gathered to shovel mulch, organize food pantries, repair and paint walls and beautify spaces that provide much needed places for people in need.
Team members worked with the following organizations:
- Family Resource Center of Gordon County
- Voluntary Action Center
- Boy Scout Camp at Camp Sydney Dew
- Murray County Boys and Girls Club
- Restoration Rome
- Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries
- TRED of Rome/Floyd County
Following the Day of service, AdventHealth team members gathered together with community members at The Forum River Center in Rome for a Night of Hope concert headlined by Christian music artist, Brandon Heath.
The free concert opened with local musicians and a collaborative worship band. Local pastors and residents shared inspiring stories and devotionals, bringing people from local faith communities together to worship and share how God has moved in their lives.
Attendees ended the evening with a sense of appreciation and hope for God’s faithfulness in the storm. As Heath closed out the concert with “Goodness of God,” the stadium was filled with voices singing out, “With every step that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God.”
