WESLEY CHAPEL, FL(September 25, 2017) Seven hundred women joined Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel at its fifth annual Women's Health and Wellness Day event at Saddlebrook Resort.
The event featured 25 health booths at the event featuring a variety of health screenings, risk assessments and health activities including free flu shots as well as fun activities like chair massages, mini-makeovers and a photo booth. Throughout the event, attendees were able to attend a variety of breakout sessions discussing women's health topics: Women's Hearts are Different by Iosif Kelesidis, MD, In Fitness and Health by John Morrison, MD and Barbara Morris, DHSc, LAT, ATC, CSCS, ROT, Memory Loss by Katherine Standley, DO, Incontinence by Gina Kirkpatrick, DO, When Knees and Hips Go by Dr. Gerald Alexander, MD and a women's health panel featuring Olufunke Abiose, MD, Lynn Deang, DPT, Nicole Figueredo, MD and Elisa Thompson, MD. During lunch, keynote speaker, Lissette Campos, ABC Action News, gave a presentation on Dare to be Fearless: The Power of You.
This has become one of our favorite events and a staple in the community, said Denyse Bales-Chubb, president and CEO of Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel. It is truly inspiring to see so many women together spending a Saturday dedicated to their own health and wellness.
The hospital also debuted photos and information about Inspiration Place, its new women's health center, that will open in October. Inspiration Place will have female specialty physicians, female imaging like mammography and ultrasound, pelvic floor physical therapy and a mini spa in a concierge environment.
