Discovery and Characterization of Genetic Risk Loci in Sjögren’s Syndrome

The purpose of this study of SD is to determine its cause, to improve understanding of it, and to help find new therapies. One very important part of this study is to compare the gene expression patterns in the blood cells of patients with SD and in controls that do not have SD in an attempt to gather information regarding the cause(s) of this disease. Learning the cause of SD is expected to help lead toward advances that improve the diagnostic tests and therapies for SD. Scientists will use your samples and selected information from you to achieve this purpose.
