We’re proud to announce that Stephanie Compton, PhD, a valued post‑doctoral researcher at the AdventHealth Research Institute, was recently featured by the American Cancer Society for her contributions to a study exploring the link between diet quality and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in colon cancer patients.
In the highlighted research, patients undergoing chemotherapy with oxaliplatin experienced fewer and less severe CIPN symptoms when following a high-quality diet—particularly one rich in vegetables and low in red/processed meats and sugary beverages.
Dr. Compton’s work was instrumental in analyzing dietary data and helping uncover the protective role nutrition can play during cancer treatment. Her efforts support a growing body of evidence that simple dietary improvements may enhance patient comfort and outcomes during therapy.
We celebrate Dr. Compton for her impactful research and continued dedication to advancing cancer care.
